Abbott is looking to recruit a Director of Organizational Effectiveness and Culture, EPD (m/f/d) Based in Basel, Switzerland (EPD HQ) The Director of Organizational Effectiveness and Culture plays a strategic leadership role to drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement by shaping the structures, processes, and cultural practices that enable leaders and teams to thrive. Build resilient and agile teams that are equipped to meet the demands of our dynamic business. Main Responsibilities Organizational Design & Effectiveness: Evaluate and improve organizational strategy success. Lead initiatives to optimize organizational structure, capabilities, roles, and workflows. Evaluates the alignment between organizational structure and business strategy, ensuring that the design supports current and future priorities Culture Strategy & Activation: Implement strategies to shape and sustain a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven culture. Monitor cultural health through YVC survey results and drive actions to improve data. Design and implement strategies to improve employee engagement. Leadership & Team Effectiveness: Facilitate interventions that improve trust, communication, and collaboration. Deliver assessment solutions that enhance team effectiveness and engagement. Manage Leadership and Team Transitions. Change Management & Transformation: Lead change management initiatives by building readiness, resilience, and alignment. Assess the impact, identify risks, resistance points, and readiness gaps. Equip leaders and teams with the tools and mindsets needed to navigate ambiguity, adapt to new ways of working, and sustain performance during transitions. Global Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing global team focused on driving initiatives that enhance organizational performance, employee engagement, and cultural alignment. Build strong partnerships with BHR DVPs, Sr BHR Area, Business Area Councils (BAC), and Practice Centers. Navigate complex matrix environments to gain sponsorship and support for OE and cultural initiatives. Influence across all levels of the organization to drive adoption and impact. Profile Requirements Education Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational psychology, business administration, or a related field. Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., organizational development, organizational psychology, business administration). Experience & Qualifications 8–10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with a strong focus on OE, change management and culture. Demonstrates ability to contract, diagnose, design, implement (& pivot), and measure business impact of organization effectiveness and culture solutions. 5+ years in a global or enterprise-level leadership role, managing cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams. Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders and influence at all levels of the organization. Experience working in complex, matrixed environments and navigating global cultural dynamics. Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into OE solutions. Proven experience in team engagement and team effectiveness, assessment, organization effectiveness, and cultural initiatives Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills across all organizational levels. Demonstrated ability to lead global teams and drive results in a matrixed environment; experience working across diverse geographies and cultures.
