Context The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education. The LPA laboratory handles the reception, preparation, storage, and provision of biological samples collected within the framework of the CHUV Genomic Biobank (BGC) as well as for national cohorts (HIV, transplantation). The LPA also manages samples from CHUV research projects or biobanks for which it is mandated. This platform ensures the reception, pre-analytical processing, DNA extraction, quality control, live cell isolation, aliquoting, and storage of collected samples. As a biobank infrastructure, the LPA has obtained the NORMA and OPTIMA labels from the Swiss Biobanking Platform.
