Management, Technology, and Economics Department Join the Sustainability in Business Lab (sus.lab) at ETH Zurich for a 6-month paid internship and contribute to projects that advance a net-zero and circular economy. Sus.lab is part of the Group for Sustainability and Technology (SusTec) at ETH Zurich. As a “think-and-do-tank,” we work with industry, policymakers, and academia on topics such as carbon dioxide removal, circular economy, food waste, and maritime shipping. Support project leads in delivering first-of-a-kind results for ongoing industry projects such as the Carbon Removal Booster, Food Waste Reduction for Households, or Hydrogen-powered shipping Work independently on assigned tasks in close collaboration with the project team Dive into new technologies and handle analytical, organizational, and communication-related tasks such as market and policy research, assessment of emerging technologies, stakeholder interviews, workshop preparation, preparation of reports, and presenting findings to partners You are available for 6 months, starting in August or September 2026 You are based in Zurich, Switzerland during the time of the internship Note: Remote work is not possible due to employment regulations You have completed your Bachelor’s degree, are currently enrolled in a Master’s degree, or have recently completed your Master’s degree Note: Applicants with a completed PhD are not suitable for this role Note for citizens of countries outside Switzerland and the EU/EFTA: you may only apply if you are currently enrolled as a student and required to complete a compulsory internship as part of your Master’s studies You are at the beginning of your career and have no more than 12 months of full-time work experience You have excellent written and spoken English skills (C1); German is an advantage but not required You have strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills You are comfortable working at the intersection of business, technology, and policy and are ready to dig into technical details, business aspects, or policy implications You are proactive, curious, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and enjoy taking ownership of your work Hands-on experience in impactful, industry-facing sustainability and technology projects Collaboration with startups, corporates, policy makers, and interdisciplinary teams Insight into the real-world commercialization and implementation of sustainability technologies A collaborative and inclusive environment with colleagues from diverse backgrounds Ownership, responsibility, and the opportunity to work independently on meaningful topics Support with accessibility needs or accommodations throughout the application process and internship We look forward to receiving your online application and learning about your experience and motivation with the following document: CV Further information about sus.lab can be found on our website.
