It is part of the national library network Swisscovery. A project for the extension and renovation of the historic building in the city centre is also underway; the new KUB will therefore open by 2026. The KUB is a meeting place for members of the university community and a broad cantonal audience. Become part of our team! Your tasks In close cooperation with the Director, you contribute to the smooth operation of the Cantonal and University Library. As deputy to the Director, you participate in the overall management of the KUB in strategic, financial and personnel matters You represent the KUB in various committees and at events You take on the strategic management of the library-related mission of the institution and lead four department heads You are responsible for coordination with the University of Fribourg You supervise vocational training and are responsible for the employment of apprentices and interns Desired profile You have a completed university degree as well as a Master’s in Information Science or an equivalent qualification You bring several years of professional experience in librarianship You have solid leadership experience as well as knowledge in project management You are characterised by initiative, analytical thinking as well as good communication skills and a well-developed network Your structured and efficient way of working as well as your organisational talent enable you to fulfil your tasks purposefully You have very good German skills and good knowledge of French and English.
