The Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DNC) brings together the services of neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation, the Leenaards Memory Centre, the Neuroscience Research Centre, as well as the Spinal Surgery Service. It offers integrated and personalised care to patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from the brain to the muscle. The Neurosurgery Department, led by Prof. Jocelyne Bloch, treats neurosurgical pathologies for adults and children and provides services in specialised fields of neurosurgery: surgery of involuntary movements, radiosurgery, epilepsy surgery, treatment of vascular malformations, brain tumours, as well as complex spinal surgery. Mission You participate in anatomical dissections on human specimens to acquire and improve your mastery of surgical approaches to the base of the skull You observe interventions performed in the operating theatre to integrate anatomical knowledge into neurosurgical clinical practice You contribute to the assembly and preparation of video materials for educational and scientific purposes You participate in internal teaching by delivering anatomy courses intended for doctors in neurosurgical training You take part in courses on skull base surgery and vascular surgery organised by the Neurosurgery Department team. Profile You hold a university Master’s degree in a field relevant to this internship You are a trainee surgeon or a young specialist wishing to deepen your expertise in surgical neuroanatomy You demonstrate a strong interest in neurosciences, neurosurgery, and applied anatomy.
