**Job title:** Operations Intern **Work location:** Kaiseraugst **Internship period**: 6 months from September 2026  The **Science & Research Operations Team** at the **Kaiseraugst site** supports research laboratories through a mix of **hands-on operational work**, coordination of services and **commercially driven process management**. We work closely with **Research, SHE, Quality, Procurement, Finance, IT and external service providers** and are involved in both day-to-day execution and continuous improvement initiatives. As an **Operations Intern**, you will actively contribute on-site while also working with data, processes and digital tools. **Key Responsibilities:**  This internship combines **practical operational work** with **analytical and commercial tasks**: **Hands-On Laboratory & Site Operations** * Support day-to-day **laboratory and site operations** directly on campus * Assist with coordination of **services**, e.g. maintenance, calibration, vendors and logistics * Hands-on support of **asset tracking, documentation and operational records** * Interface with lab users and service providers to ensure smooth execution **Services, Commercial & Process Support** * Support **service and cost overviews**, tracking of services, contracts and budgets * Assist in preparing **commercial summaries and operational KPIs** * Support Procurement- and Finance-related operational topics (e.g. service transparency, cost allocation) **Digital & Continuous Improvement** * Work with **digital tools** such as SharePoint lists, Forms, trackers and databases * Contribute to **process documentation, harmonization and optimization** * Support reporting and preparation of **management-ready dashboards and presentations** This role offers a **realistic and hands-on insight** into how laboratory operations are managed from both an **operational and commercial perspective**. **You bring:** * You are currently enrolled in or have recently completed (within the last 12 months) a **Bachelor-s or Master-s degree**, ideally with a **commercial or operations-oriented background**, such as: * Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering * Business Informatics, Digital Management * Life Sciences **with strong interest in operations, services and cost structures** * You enjoy **hands-on work** and are comfortable being present on site and in lab environments * At the same time, you are interested in **processes, data, costs and digital tools** * You work in a structured, reliable and pragmatic way * You are confident with **Excel and PowerPoint**; experience with **SharePoint or databases** is a plus * You communicate clearly and enjoy working with different stakeholders * You are **fluent in English**; German is a pre-requisite   **About dsm-firmenich** At dsm-firmenich, we don-t just meet expectations - we go beyond them.
