This responsibility includes line management of Plant General Managers, profit, AWC, DIFOTIS as well as other operational plant KPIs. Development and execution of effective operational strategies including Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, and overall operational excellence are key focus areas. In addition, this role is instrumental in driving the Operations transformation for the Business Unit. The successful candidate for this role will be pro-active, customer savvy and highly adaptable in a changing environment. ** ** **Job Dimensions & Scope** Position related information: Geography the position is responsible for: Manufacturing plants in France, Chille, Canada and US Relationships: Plant General Managers (direct reports) VP Operations (line manager) VP BU (dotted-line manager) All Operations leadership team including CI Director; Quality Director; EHS Director, Supply Chain Director, HR Director; Finance Director Operations Director in other BUs * * **Principal Accountabilities** Responsible for achieving the set targets as per the Strategic Plans and annual business plans for all plants in the BU, in the following areas: * EHS: targeting zero accidents and effective environmental controls and management * EBIT: responsible for the P&L of the plants in BU, an accountability shared with the Business Unit VP * Other financial goals, including AWC * Customer service and quality measured by DIFOTIS as well as number of customer complaints * Plant productivity and efficiency measured by OEE. Matching of capacity to demand through capacity flexing * Cost out projects as per budget requirements through CI and Procurement programs * Asset management, including maintenance and repair, CapEx preparation and asset replacement and upgrade * Strong Contributor in Value Plus discussions and action planning to improve profitability at plant level * Develop key customer relationships * Contribute to the overall Operations Strategy and strategic planning for AFEMEA. * Strategic Operational Improvement projects including footprint change, plant integration, capacity rationalisation, as required * Talent management within the setting of the BU operations and the overall Operations team * Employee engagement and employee relations ** ** **Qualifications/Requirements** 1. **Formal Qualifications and Experience** * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operational Management or Business with an MBA being a plus * Previous related experience and track record of success in leadership roles in a manufacturing environment essential * Strong financial and CI acumen * Successful track record in managing multiple plants in an international setting is required * Packaging experience preferred * Able to travel 75% + ** ** ** ** 1. ** Specific Skills and Abilities** * Strong leader with the ability to steer the transfer of a manufacturing vision into actions & decisions * Ability to deploy Manufacturing strategy through strong engagement with teams across the plants and organization * Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities * Ability to develop team through coaching and training * Strong Operations background with the Customer in mind * Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills * Highly effective presentation and negotiations skills * An analytical thinker with the ability to simplify complex issues, identify risks / mitigations early, and willing to think outside the obvious solutions * Cultural and linguistic dexterity * Able to co-ordinate and work with dispersed teams * A strong ability to drive change and transformation in a complex matrix environment * Strong stakeholder management.
