Join the Kindes- und Erwachsenenschutzbehörde Glarus (KESB), a key organization ensuring protection for those unable to manage their affairs. This role offers a collaborative work environment with meaningful benefits. Tasks Responsible for clarifying and supervising protective measures for clients. Independently handle assigned cases, conducting hearings and drafting applications. Guide and advise assistants while contributing to KESB's development. Skills A tertiary degree in law, psychology, education, or social work with extensive experience is required. Strong analytical, communicative, and conceptual skills are essential. Ability to work well in teams and adapt to new areas of expertise. The Child and Adult Protection Authority Glarus (KESB) is responsible for ensuring the protection of persons who are unable to manage their own affairs and are also unable to independently obtain the necessary support. The KESB is supported by its own assessment service, a secretariat, an auditing office, and an advisory centre for private mandate holders. We are looking for a Member of the Child and Adult Protection Authority (KESB) 80% from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement, based in Glarus. Tasks As a full member of the KESB decision-making body, responsible for assessment, ordering, and supervision of the measures ordered by the authority in child and adult protection As a case-leading member, independently handling the assigned cases (issuing orders to the assessment service, conducting interviews and hearings, preparing proposals for the KESB) Instruction and advice to guardians Taking on specialist portfolios and contributing to the management and further development of the KESB Requirements Tertiary qualification in law, psychology, education, or social work with several years of work experience With profound knowledge of child and adult protection law Strong conceptual, communicative, and analytical skills Interest and ability for legal thinking Willingness to familiarise oneself with new specialist areas Fluency and confidence in oral and written expression Teamwork skills and ability for interdisciplinary collaboration High social competence and resilience as well as assertiveness Your contact For further information, please contact Hansueli Brunner, President KESB, Tel. 055 646 67 58 or Matthias Flöscher, Authority member, Tel. 055 646 67 62.
