About the job Care Qualified nurse for the Department of Clinical Neurosciences The Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DNC) is seeking a qualified nurse at an activity rate between 80% and 100%, under a fixed-term contract from 1 August to 30 September 2026, to cover replacements within the various units of the department. Context The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education. The Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DNC) brings together the Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neuropsychology and Neurorehabilitation Services, the Leenaards Memory Centre, the Neuroscience Research Centre, as well as the Spinal Surgery Service. It offers integrated and personalised care to patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from brain to muscle. As part of absence replacements, you will be called upon to work within the various units of the Department, in a rich and stimulating clinical environment. Mission You ensure the identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care in the preventive, curative, palliative and educational fields, in compliance with professional standards and institutional rules You guarantee the proper execution of delegated medical acts and assume responsibility by demonstrating mastery of nursing gestures and techniques You actively participate in welcoming patients and their relatives, preparing for discharge, as well as coordinating activities and continuity of care within the interprofessional team You develop and implement prevention, health promotion, functional rehabilitation and social reintegration actions, notably through teaching approaches You contribute to the continuous improvement of nursing care efficiency, based on evidence, and develop your self-assessment and learning skills. Profile You hold a Bachelor of Science HES in nursing or an equivalent qualification; for diplomas obtained abroad, recognition by the Swiss Red Cross is mandatory You master nursing gestures and techniques with rigour and professionalism You are comfortable with the electronic patient record, particularly regarding documentation and prescriptions You demonstrate great flexibility and strong adaptability You show strong personal commitment as well as a real sense of responsibility You adhere to an irreproachable ethics in public service You possess excellent interpersonal skills with patients, relatives and various partners You have good analytical and synthesis skills, facilitating enlightened decision-making You demonstrate active listening and solid communication skills You appreciate teamwork and possess a true spirit of collaboration You show open-mindedness, adaptability and good stress resistance, combined with energy and tenacity You have basic computer skills and are comfortable in an IT environment.
