About the job The opportunity Join Hitachi, Ltd. as an Equipment Engineer and play a key role in optimizing and maintaining manufacturing equipment to ensure high performance, reliability, and efficiency. You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing to continuous improvement and supporting innovative manufacturing processes. How you’ll make an impact Develop and implement modifications and upgrades to existing manufacturing equipment to improve efficiency, yield, and safety Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex manufacturing machinery and systems Analyse equipment performance data to identify trends, predict failures, and implement preventive measures Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues and optimize processes Create and maintain documentation for equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and technical specifications Train technicians and operators on new equipment and updated procedures Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely procurement of required components and ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations Support the selection, installation, and qualification of new manufacturing equipment Your background Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical Engineering Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment engineering within a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems Proven ability to troubleshoot complex machinery and identify root causes of failures Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment English is mandatory, German is beneficial More about us Our flexible working practices help you optimize personal and business performance while creating an environment where all employees can develop their skills and grow.
