About the job Substitute Teachers for Primary - Francophones - On Call Founded in 1924, the International School of Geneva (Ecolint) welcomes 4,500 students aged 3 to 18 years representing more than 130 nationalities. In brief: Campus: La Châtaigneraie – Primary School Contract: On-call substitutes / Hourly remuneration for the 2026-2027 school year Rate: Part-time (hours to be confirmed) Line manager: Primary School Principal Start date: Early September 2026 Application deadline: 1 July 2026 Reference: 200 022 Why this role is important: As on-call francophone substitute teachers, you play a vital role in maintaining our high pedagogical standards. You will be responsible for creating a stimulating, caring, and inquiry-based learning environment. You will design and deliver engaging learning experiences aligned with the Primary Programme framework, fostering the holistic development of each student. Your role and responsibilities: Substitute positions Deliver stimulating and inclusive lessons in line with the primary school curriculum. Foster a positive, caring, and stimulating classroom environment that supports students’ social and emotional development. Assess student progress, provide feedback, and support individual learning needs. Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure the holistic development of the student. Manage the classroom to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment. Profile sought: Skills and Experience Flexibility, ability to accept work at short notice. Internationally recognised teaching qualification. Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate pedagogical practices. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Effective classroom management skills to foster a safe and supportive learning environment. Ability to differentiate teaching to meet diverse needs and learning styles. Excellent command of French and English (minimum B1). Your personal qualities Passionate about teaching and inspiring young learners. Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet individual student needs. Collaborative spirit and openness to feedback. Technical skills Proficiency with basic technologies and digital tools used in education, including familiarity with online learning platforms and interactive classroom tools.
