Tasks Enhance the current on-premise Data Warehouse for migration readiness. Participate in migrating from Data Warehouse to on-premise Data Lakehouse. Manage and evolve the Data Lakehouse post-initial setup. Skills Education in (Business) Informatics, Data Engineering, or similar. Proven experience with on-premise Data Lakehouse solutions. Strong SQL skills, ideally with knowledge of Talend. About the job What you can achieve Optimisation of the existing on premise Data Warehouse as a basis for the later migration Co-design and technical implementation of the migration from a Data Warehouse to an on premise Data Lakehouse architecture Operation, monitoring and further development of the Data Lakehouse after initial setup Active participation in the preparation and provision of data for BI to AI use cases Contributing and establishing best practices around Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse and Data Engineering within the team Consulting and supporting business departments on questions regarding data processing and provision as well as promoting data literacy within the company What you bring with you Degree in (business) computer science, data engineering or a comparable qualification Proven several years of experience in building and operating Data Lakehouse solutions, ideally on premise Solid experience in developing data pipelines as well as with relational database technologies, especially MSSQL Very good SQL skills and ideally also Talend knowledge Sound understanding of data architecture, data modelling as well as data governance and data quality management Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA data structures and logic Experience working within matrix organisations and ability to communicate technical matters understandably to non-technical stakeholders Structured, quality- and solution-oriented working style with a focus on delivery as well as pronounced initiative Confident communication in German, both spoken and written; good English skills are a plus Salary and benefits About 3000 employees of RUAG and RUAG Real Estate make a significant contribution to Switzerland's security every day.
