About the job Nursing Deputy Head of Nursing for the DAL-DNC Departments To complete its team, the Nursing Directorate of the Departments of the Locomotor System and Clinical Neurosciences is seeking a Deputy Head of Department Nursing at a workload of 80% to 100%, starting 1 September 2026 or as agreed. Context The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education. The Department of the Locomotor System includes the rheumatology, orthopaedic surgery and trauma, plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery and hand surgery services, the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as the Sports Medicine Centre and the Chiropractic Unit. It manages pathologies related to the skeleton, tendons, and joints, whether accidental or degenerative in origin. The Department of Clinical Neurosciences includes the neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation services, the Leenaards Memory Centre, the Neuroscience Research Centre, and the Spinal Surgery Service. It offers integrated and personalised care to patients suffering from diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system, from brain to muscle. Mission You participate, alongside the Department Nursing Directorate, in a participative, responsible, and efficient personnel management policy You assume, by mandate and delegation, responsibilities in the strategic and operational management of nursing You actively contribute to the continuous improvement of patient and family care You support development, innovation, and research projects related to the department’s mission You carry out cross-functional mandates entrusted by the Nursing Directorate. Profile You hold a HES nursing diploma (or equivalent recognised by the Swiss Red Cross) Postgraduate training in intensive care (EPDSI), anaesthesia (EPDSA), or emergency care (EPDSU) is an asset You have a DAS in health management (or an equivalent qualification considered acceptable), or are willing to acquire one You have at least 4 to 5 years’ experience as a nursing manager, at ICS level or higher You have proven management skills and an interest in the following topics: health economics, health law, HR management, finance, project management You are proficient with common office software tools.
