About the job Come Innovate Motion with Us As our next Thermodynamic and Thermal Systems - Lead Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and optimizing advanced thermal architectures. Your expertise in heat pump systems, refrigerant selection, and simulation integration will help accelerate innovation and guide strategic decisions for next-generation e-System technologies. Your responsibilities will be to: Lead the design of cutting-edge thermal systems using sustainable refrigerants like R744, R290, and R1234yf Collaborate with simulation engineers and cross-functional teams to drive innovation Work in a global, matrixed organization that values agility, experimentation, and continuous learning Influence product roadmaps and accelerate time-to-market for high-impact solutions Enjoy a culture that supports technical mastery, collaboration, and leadership development Be part of a team shaping the future of energy-efficient mobility Design and develop thermal system architectures for heat pumps and cooling systems Evaluate refrigerants and components to meet performance and environmental goals Integrate simulation insights and AI tools to refine system designs Collaborate with R&D, product management, and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions Analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings to senior stakeholders Our requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience in thermodynamics and thermal system design Master’s degree in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; PhD is considered as an advantage Experience with using MATLAB, GT Suites and 1D simulation software with additional programming skills in Python or R Previous experience in the automotive and/or HVAC industry, with solid understanding of sustainable refrigerants and global thermal system regulations Strongly collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with the ability to effectively work across cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to guide discussions, influence decisions, and take ownership of projects Fluency in French, German, or Italian in addition to English What we offer: A truly international and multicultural and fast-moving work environment A cutting-edge, fully automated production environment where innovation meets execution The opportunity to further develop your professional skills in a diverse and engaging job Come join our global, inclusive & diverse team Our purpose is to improve the quality of life of everyone we touch through our innovative motion systems.
