# EI&C PI Engineer # (m/f/d) Freelance/temporary employment for a project Visp Start date: asap Reference number: 897035/1 ### Responsibilities ### * Administer, maintain, and optimize PI Data Archive systems and supporting infrastructure * Configure and support PI Asset Framework (AF), templates, hierarchies, attributes, and Event Frames (EF) * Develop PI Analytics, KPIs, calculations, and process data evaluation solutions * Design, implement, and troubleshoot integrations between PI and manufacturing systems such as DeltaV, PLCs, MES, and LIMS * Develop applications and interfaces using PI SDK, AF SDK, PI Web API, REST APIs, and SQL technologies * Support data visualization, reporting, and analytics platforms including Power BI * Monitor system performance and ensure reliability through upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management * Create and maintain GxP-compliant documentation and support validation activities * Ensure data integrity and compliance within GMP-regulated environments * Collaborate with Automation, Manufacturing, Engineering, IT, and Data Analytics teams on digitalization initiatives ### Profile ### * Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline * Proven experience with PI Data Archive, PI AF, Event Frames, PI Interfaces & Connectors, and PI Analytics * Hands-on experience with PI SDK, AF SDK, and PI Web API development * Strong IT infrastructure knowledge including servers, databases, networking, virtualization, and system integrations * Experience integrating OT and IT systems within manufacturing environments * Knowledge of GMP-regulated industries and GxP documentation requirements * Experience with SQL databases, Power BI, and data analytics solutions * Familiarity with DeltaV, MES, SCADA, and industrial automation platforms * Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving capabilities * Fluent in English; German is an advantage ### Benefits ### * Opportunity to work on critical digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives * Exposure to advanced process data historian and analytics technologies * Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering, automation, and IT teams * Involvement in large-scale manufacturing and operational technology environments * Diverse responsibilities across system administration, analytics, and integrations * Opportunity to contribute to data-driven decision making in regulated production environments * Professional growth within automation, data engineering, and digital transformation * Dynamic international working environment * Long-term planned projects within pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing * Continuous learning and development opportunities in modern industrial technologies
