Join our team as a trainee school social worker, supporting students! Enjoy a collaborative work environment with experienced professionals. Tasks Conduct systemically oriented counseling for students and parents. Facilitate mediation talks in conflict situations. Plan and execute group interventions and social projects. Skills Must have a confident demeanor and be self-initiated. Flexibility and reliability are essential for this role. Strong communication skills and openness towards others. In school social work (SSA), four professionals (including management) are employed with a total of 235 percent positions. The team is complemented by a school social worker in training. The trainee, with the support of the practical trainer, is mainly active in a primary school building. To complement our team, we offer from August 2026 or by arrangement a: Apprenticeship as a School Social Worker in the Part-Time Social Work Degree Programme HSLU (40 - 50 %) Tasks Systemic solution-oriented counselling sessions with pupils, parents and guardians, teachers, staff of the Sursee city schools and other reference persons Referral and mediation discussions in conflict situations Collaboration with teachers Exchange with specialist agencies, triage if necessary Support in challenging situations Social group work: capturing and accompanying group dynamic processes Planning and conducting interventions in groups and classes Administration (record keeping) Prevention: offers on class- and school-relevant social topics Project work, participation in team meetings and intervisions Qualifications Confident demeanour Initiative, independence Flexibility Reliability, resilience Outgoing nature, openness We offer An apprenticeship in the field of social work HSLU for a duration of 4 – 4.5 years (depending on start date) A professional, experienced team with many years of experience in SSA Close support by a qualified and long-standing practical trainer (daily contact ensured, regular reflection and support discussions) At the beginning of the apprenticeship, the opportunity to observe many counselling sessions. The timing of starting own counselling sessions is agreed with the practical trainer.
