About the job Tax Commissioner Inheritance and Gift Tax 100% Welcome to the fascinating world of taxes! The cantonal tax office, together with the municipal tax offices, collects taxes for the federal government, the canton, and the municipalities. We support private individuals and companies throughout the entire tax collection process. Around 800 qualified employees are committed to this at the location in Zurich Altstetten. In the Estate Department, the assessment of inheritance and gift taxes as well as the assessment of ordinary taxes related to deaths is carried out in particular. You can further specialise in tax law and rely on a competent network for any questions. We are looking for the right reinforcement for our team from 1 October 2026 or by arrangement. Your tasks - Examination and assessment of tax returns of deceased persons - Assessment of inheritance and gift taxes, including the preparation and review of property and company valuations - Assessment of supplementary wealth taxes - Processing of ruling requests - Professional contact person for enquiries from heirs, heir representatives and executors as well as professional advice to the assigned municipal tax offices - Representation of the Canton of Zurich in appeal proceedings Your profile - Several years of experience in the field of taxes and/or - Advanced professional training in finance and accounting, fiduciary or as a business economist HF or successfully completed bachelor's degree, ideally in business administration or law or similar qualifications - Independent and responsible working style as well as high decision-making and analytical skills - Convincing appearance and empathy - Very good written and oral communication skills in German We offer - An experienced, committed and collegial team - Thorough induction into the area of work - Attractive employment conditions such as flexible working hours, the possibility to work from home, lunch vouchers as well as a modern workplace in close proximity to Zurich Altstetten station - Internal and external training opportunities - Versatile development opportunities such as further specialisation in tax law, participation in projects Your next step If so, we look forward to receiving your application.
